Hi,
I've just bought 2 Convict Cichlids which have hardly moved since i got them home 2 days ago!!
They just sit on the sand in one corner behind a log.
The water parameters are fine because its a well matured tank and the temperature is also ok.
I've had fish hide before after being transported but they normally perk up the following day.
Is this normal behaviour because they are still stressed or should I be more worried?

Cheers

My cons hit my tank running. I have 4, and until they laid eggs they were fine. But soon as the one pair had fry. My second female went into heat or "what ever you call it", and my boy went nuts. He chased the other male into a corner and wouldn't let him out. Then it was like he forgot who the mother to his kids were and ran mom away from them. He basically chased everyone in the tank all night then in the morning everything went back to normal. I guess what I'm trying to say is that your fish might be laided back now but wait for the first litter it will be a show.

I'm still a bit worried about them.
It's been 2 weeks now and they are both still really scared. The male has been nosing around a bit but the female just lies on her side in one corner. I've never seen fish so neurotic!!
As soon as anyone goes in the room they both bounce off the walls!!

Has anyone else experienced this?
Could it be that they are not a compatible pair?

Thanks for the help
