Who else has had a Xmas bonus from work this year ? Today we have all been informed that we are getting an Xmas bonus because of the year being so tough and being open during lockdown the company I work for has decided that we should all have a little extra for Xmas a little being the right word , we have all been given a huge sum of £30... but despite the life changing amount being added to our wages they are closing early and will be unpaid , just out of curiosity does anybody else have a Xmas bonus and does anybody else work for a company that has no employee consideration? £30 to beat lol

I got an early Juwel Rio 125 for £120 that came with literally everything including fish if that counts :)

I’ve got around a $150 bonus, but it wasn’t a technical “Christmas bonus”. $30 is pretty sad...

Like I said to my manager might aswel of kept it beens we all have lost 7 days pay anyway , merry Xmas that’s I say the cheap grinch

I have only been at my job a couple months and they slipped me $250 cash. I wasn't expecting anything, but that $250 bought me an oil change and a new toy for my daughter and I to play with outside and I still have half of it left. £30 is kind of ridiculous. I guess it's better than a sharp stick in the eye, but still...

I think it’s an insult to be honest ,I’d of preferred a gift of less value I don’t know say a bottle of whiskey costs less than £20 but the thought would of counted a whole lot more than us pretending to be great full for effectively an extra 2 hours in our pay packet , if that makes sense

Makes perfect sense. I agree.

I'm currently working as an external contractor in a factory, the factory workers all got redundancy letters last week, and the next day got Christmas hampers.......

Completely understand your disappointment but in many areas of the world this has been a very challenging year. Unemployment rates have skyrocketed and businesses are shuttering left and right. Small business owners are bankrupt and depression is at an all time high. Many people would be over the moon to have stable employment right now. Try to approach it from a place of gratitude.

Ohh @kwi that's just wrong.

I used to work at a company that did a pizza party during our (unpaid) lunch break on the last day before closing for the holidays. At least to was free lunch lol. It was actually fine, it was a break from routine and nobody had any expectations except for that pizza party since it was an annual thing lol

To me, this seems like a more subtle kiss off than two hours worth of pay bonus. Kind of like forgetting to tip your waitress vs intentionally leaving a bad tip.

I think I'll get £10 (= $13.33) from the government as I have a state pension and meet the residence condition...........

I get that and wouldn’t want to upset anybody who has been made redundant but the company I work for didn’t close at all as were our competition did so we had that much work we was having to rent it off closed companies just to keep up with our work load , so this year our company has probably made more profit than the year before

I used to work for a local council, no bonuses, no party unless we paid for them ourselves, your line manager might have given you a bottle of wine from his own pocket.....
Firm I'm with now you get a hamper and 3 extra paid days, though I don't think I've long enough service (3 weeks tomorrow.) for the hamper and I know I don't for the paid days so I have to take mandatory leave.
