I have some left over aquarium glass which i've been storing for nearly a year now and I'm tempted to get it put together into a HUGE tank, (to move my balas into and let me re-stock my 7.5 foot with other things).
so I was wondering if you guys had any equipment advice for a ginormous tank?
I've got enough glass, and space and supporting materials to maximise my tank at near enough 1700 USgallons / 6500 Litres. [I'm not planning on going quite that large ) (16.5 by 3.5 by 4 feet) But assuming I did and assuming I put a 50 strong shoal of Balas in there...
Now I own a large eheim filter but that's not gonna cut it for this sort of tank. I've read about various Sumps and so on but what would you use to filter a 4 tonne tank? would I just get 4 Eheim 2260's? Or is there something else for this much filtration?
And heating, obviously I'm not going to get a 6500watt heater...am I?
What I'm asking is, if I was to build a seriously big tank, what equipment would you guys recommend and are there any techniques that ebcome viable if you have such a tank?
