hi! so i’ve had my betta fish for a year now and while i was away at college a large lump started to form on her right side and it has only gotten bigger. i tried to medicate her but she seems perfectly healthy besides the bump. i’m wondering what it is or what i can do to make it go away? sorry that the images are on twitter i couldn’t figure out how else to get them on here

sorry the pics didn’t post!

The fish has a tumour or cysts in its body. There is nothing you can do to treat it. Just feed the fish a varied diet and do regular water changes. When the fish stops eating or can't swim properly, euthanize it.

there’s no way to remove or drain it?

nope. you will either kill the fish when you try to anesthetise it, or you will do significant damage to the fish trying to remove it (this is a big growth in a small fish), or the fish suffocates while it is being operated on.
