What ever you do, dont use the 'good' towels to wrap them up in while breaking .

So there is not really any special way to do it, just wrap them and hit them with a hammer !

You could hammer and chisel but from experience the effect isn't much different.

Wrap them up, hit hard and hope for the best... keep checking to make sure it ain't just a pile of rubble lol.

I never wrap them up, I just shut myself in the garage away from the kids/cats  :look:

Chisel doesn't have much effect really, even with a chisel they never break where you want them to anyway.

Ok so i have tried to taken the advice so far and put this into practice so what have i done, well ....

1. Smashed up some of rock into smaller pieces, which was harder than i thought. You don just have to hit it, you have to HIT it.

2. Moved the whole hardscape closer to the top corner as Ian suggested it may look better.

3. Tried to dig the rocks into the substrate a little more to make it feel more natural.

So what did i manage to come up with ?

Well here we go ...

Definitely, i always planned on some maybe some weeping moss.

Guys thanks so far for all the ideas and pointers i really appreciate them.

Now ill have a look at some plants over the weekend.

Also i was thinking of ditching the filter that cam with the tank as they look aweful and are meant to be C***. I have been looking at these, http://www.allpondsolutions.co.uk/aquarium-1/aquarium-filters/hang-on-filters/aquarium-hang-on-filter-400l-h.html

What do you think ? Adjustable flow so it might be ok for the tank if i turn it down a little bit.

They work very well mate, the supplied media is pants, change it to some ceramic ring/ bioballs and it will work a treat. Ive had and used a few of there 500lph versions but plan on ordering that very one for my small nano.

Cheers mate, they look well built and a nice price as well. I have some media i can take from my main tank filter and i will just replace it with the spare i have.

Again cheers guys, more updates over the weekend im sure.
