Morning Alex, i had heard about the light issue and should look into getting this replaced. Not had any issues at the moment with it. I will keep my eye on it, any ideas what the issue with them is ?

Coming on a treat mate. The Shrimp are stunning!

Cheers Minnnt

I think it was due to the light unit not having any adjustable/lockable mount and it just sits on the glass... basically the risk of the unit falling into the tank.

Hmm mine fits solid to the glass so its going nowhere.

I think it's a health and safety thing rather than an actual fault.... most people say the same thing about it fitting snugly.

A case of health and safety gone mad again

I may be wrong but ive heard a few mention now that this was the apparent fault

i also heard that, however, i also heard it was because the tanks was less litreage than on the box, and the all went back.

Yeh i herd that one to... but the recall is for the light unit only according to the recall notification

Had to remove the 2 Japonica over into the bigger tank as they have been taking a liking to my plants and leaving half eaten leaves :(

Im seeing a little more melt on the HC, should i trim this soon to promote growth / runners ?

No mate you should trim to avoid decay and a possible ammonia spike which can and usually does lead to algae problems ;)

This may be a silly question, but what is melt in terms of aquarium plants?

Started to see even more melt on the HC and some of the other plants. I say melt it might be a deficiency of some sort as the leaves look a little tired. Hard to explain they just look limp. So i have upped my ferts and carbon from 5ml & 1ml to 6.5ml & 1.5ml.
