L134 Leopard Frog Pleco?

Ok well i thought i bought L134 off of aquabid but its kinda looks like a candy stripe or sumthin else. Its still small i say at least 1.25 inches. Hopefully u can tell me what it is for sure. Here are best pics i could take of the pleco.

Yea yours and mine look tottally different. Mine is orange and black. BUt could it because its still small? (about 1.25 inches). Well if it is a clown what should i do cause i didnt pay for a clown....

Oh yea sent him a email and use your picture as a comparsion hope you dont mine. I knew something was fishy when i looked at it.

Clown pleco's are nice but i would rather have a leopard frog. =) So the guy responded back tellin me that his imported insured him that they were L134s but he told me to 2-3 weeks to see if they're colors change or anything. But i highly doubt it.

i agree that it is not a leopard frog, and that it is a clown/ringlet pleco...you should let the seller of the fish know that it could not be a leopard frog because not only are the colors wrong, but they are from two different genus...the leopard frog is a peckoltia and the clown/ringlet is a panaque...even if the colors were to somehow change, the body and head shape are very much different...hopefully he rights his wrong, because the value of the two are very different, and if you paid quite a bit for a supposed leopard frog and ended up with a clown, then he should definately fix his mistake...hope everything works out!

Yea i paid 24$ for the fish which i could get a clown for probably $8-$10 at my lfs. I'll email him again and show him this thread to show him how many people disagree. Thanx guys!

134's are easy to ID even when young.... 10week old fry are clearly different and not mistaken for clowns

Best case is that they have been incorrectly ID'd when imported - the seller should have corrected this and sold them as what they are.
Worst case - he's scamming people

Either way you should be entitled to a refund as you have not got what you paied for.

Yeah mine definitely doesnt even resemble your awesome L134s. His feedback was perfect 251/251 or sumthin around there. So here r the emails ive sent him using some of yall's replys.

1st email.
"Ok thanks. Not to be more of a nuisance but are you sure the pleco you sent me a L134 Leopard Frog Pleco? Looks more like a clown to me. And my friend on a forum showed me his which looks like this

Then he responded with this.

SOme of them looked funny to me too but the importer assured me that they were L134, as they are super tiny they might change color still, but outta the 20 I got like 8 of them lookd liek the one I sent you. I didnt really get to look at them that good and thought they were colored like that cause they were medicated. But give em a couple of weeks, if they dont change and the ones here stay that way Ill qustion my importer and tell him that my customers are not happy and get more in exchange, you can keep that one and Ill send you another.

Then i sent him this one which he hasnt responded to yet.
"Yeah you should definitely tell your importer he/she sent you the wrong package. Clown plecos are much cheaper than leopard frogs so your being conned also. Not only are the colors different, but their two genus's of their own leopard frog belongs to the peckoltia and the clown/ringlet belongs to the panaque family. And if the colors do change the body and shape are very different."

Sooo i think ill be gettin a new one hopefully. But off topic does anyone keep a snowball pleco in a planted tank? Because i'm gettin new lights to plant my tank but not sure if the snowball will ruin it..
