I recently bought a 12 inch common Pleco from a so-called reputable dealer. I was told that this beautiful fish is a herbevore and wouldn't harm my other tank fish. I put him in a communal tank, as I was told that he'd been in one for some time. Within 20 minutes or so he was attacking all my fish. Rather than return him, I went out and purchased a brand new full set up for him - to the expense of 270 GBP. He is now quite content on his own. My poor good lady wife sat up all night with our fish as she had this vision of going to bed and waking in the morning to no fish but one in the tank - aka 'a fatter Plec'. We are also now the proud owner of kittens as she had several during the night through panic and stress!

Be advised, L-021/L-023 is not a Herbevore. It is an omnivore as we later learnt and a prolific stalker/hunter.

all plecs are omavores, its common sence, and if you had reserched the fish before buying you would have known that they eat plants, algae, wood, and meat. they are not predators though, they are scavengers.
