Ok ive just bought a new house which has the most amazing pond ive ever seen. its supposubdly 8 foot deep, 24 foot in length and 8 foot accross. It currently houses some lovely koi three of which are huge already (2foot ish) and cost the guy £800 each suposubdly.

I need to know of any specialist websites so that i can start my research please

how many gallons is that pond?

WHat sort of food should i use?

can i put a big sturgeon in with the koi or am i asking for trouble?

Thanks

gallon wise can you not use one of the internet converters try typing fett to gallons into google. do you know what filtration you have im wanting to keep koi and we are building a huge pond but are unsurre about the requirements

9568.2 Gallons (uk)

thats going on your mesurments you can take sum off with ledges ans other things

 that is one biiiiiiiiig pond

Thanks Tip

The pond cuts the garden in half and has a bridge over one end of it. I need to get the precise measurements as im going off what the current owner says. It has a waterfall going into it at one end so i am asuming it is a pump fed filter and not a gravity one. Im goin to go round on the 23rd in order to get the full spec of the equipment so i know what i am dealing with and if i need to upgrade anything.

IM SO EXCITED WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Hi, lucky you. It sounds like you've inherited a great set up there.
I can thoroughly recommend the following forum for any questions you may have on your pond or your koi.

Was on there yesterday looked really good. Words can not describe how excited i am. I built a friends koi pond last year and ever since have been desperate for a bigger garden so i can have a huuuge one on there. The great thing is this one looks better than i could ever have done. And it has lights in there WAHOOOOOO
