Koi Fish

Does anyone else here just love koi fish? I love feeding them at the park and stuff. They are so cool and peaceful. Is it true that they grow to a specific size according to how big their habitat is? I heard that somewhere...

i realy like watching the koi in my dads freinds pond, i think its 1500gallons, he is like a landscaper or somthing... its cool how u can see the top of them, thats the neat part

They are very nice fish, but they do not grow to they're environment at a minimum of 1000gallons is needed to keep them.

Yep koi are great, and no fish grows to the size of there enviroment (safely), it's just an old wifes tale!!

We hand feed the big koi at work and 1 of them is a greedy bugger and trys to rip your finger off when you play with them!!

I love hand feeding koi...they're so beautiful and it sorta feels like a hicky when they eat the food out of your hand.

My only gripe is the price: I saw the most marvelous koi (and it was pretty big to ~1.5 feet long) for $2300(!)

My cousins have loads of koi in their pond. They're huge and really well looked after. I think they're really great!

i love koi too. we have some at my home in a pond in our backyard. now, at the university, one of the residences has a large fish pond with loads of HUGE koi. unfortunatly, MTV Frat Boys came here last year and barbecued one for kicks on television. stupid frat boys....
