Looks classic crowntail to me, albeit one that isn't very "well bred".

Very pretty boy, though! Love that first photo.

Gorgeous! great photo's im finding it hard to take decent pics coz my platys are so hyper xD

He looks EXACTLY LIKE MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
although mine died last year of a fungal disease :-(
If hadnt of buried him i could have accused you of stealing him thats how much the same they look. Mine was Crowntail and Veiltail cross, so that could be yours.

I managed to get a better picture of him, I wonder if you can tell me his tail type from this photo? I'm really curious to know! I'm still learning to recognise all the tail types.

He is a double double ray Crown tail. There are single ray double ray and dbl.dbl.ray Crowntails. You can see where the fin rays split into two then those two split into two more rays then split again into two rays. What I like about it is that it's all on one webbing. I have a Black Orchid double double ray Crown tail that splits the webbing after the 2nd ray splitting. If you breed him look for a female with double double rays.

I agree with phistar i think hes deff a crowntail cross veiltail. :)

Btw way i'm not sure as i've been told diferent things but do betta's go with guppies peacefully?

seriously no go on guppies, their tails will make him think they are bettas. anything with a floaty tail really isnt a good idea...he'll see thm as a threat and basically kill them....its not a pretty sight so I've heard. try to keep him with neutral tank mates...apple snail.
