KITTENS!!!

14k give him a break. How is a 12 year old supposed to go to the vet to get his cats fixed? I'm sure it's his parents doing the kitten thing and they are doing a good job with it. You gotta stop being so rude.

Sorry, but having litters & litters of kittens that are OVERPOPULATING the already over-ridden world, is not a 'good job.'

I think you should know alittle more about the person or about the situation before you turn it into something its not!

amen to that...and dont just thank me Auratus was on your side too.

Uh.... Sorry to disapoint you, but if you don't spay/neuter your cats they're going to have babies..... Maybe at the young age of 12, you don't understand that yet, but that's how the world works.....

She isnt required to spay or neuter them. She seems to be taking care of her cats just fine she isnt throwing them out so you cant just sit there and lecture her about getting them fixed. she isnt dumping them or just disposing of them. And yea you really do have to stop being so rude. You talk about mturity, well does critisizing a 12 year old make you mature?

then take it up with the parents. It's a little too late to do anything about it now...

So you say it's not okay to breed but then you say it is okay to breed as long as their purebred?

A dog is a dog is a dog...same with a cat. Even purebred animals get put into pounds so breeding purebreds is still adding to the population.

And the more purebreds you breed the less amount of stray animals are going to be rescued. That was my whole point in this thread. But you don't seem to understand...

Never said she was required to do anything... I was pointing out that she IS, in fact responsible (or her parent's are) for the cats having litters...

I'm saying that it's ok to breed purebred dogs for the purpose of showing... You can't show mutts, therefore, IMO they shouldn't be bred...

I'm not disagreeing with you there. But for the people who breed for show, they already have people who are going to buy the animals... That is responsible breeding

Alright then where did all the purebred dogs in the pound come from?

Someone obviously bought the purebred dog/cat and neglected them or let them run loose. So even if you breed and sell it to a person, you don't know what that person who bought your animal is going to do. They may neglect it and get it taken away or just let it run loose and get picked up by animal control. I mean I got my purebreds from the pound so there is obviously people who don't care about the animal, mutt or not.

My parents nor I are responcible for the kittens. There really was no reason to tell you how they got pregnant but just to clear the names of my parents. We left to Mexico for 2 weeks so we hired a caretaker or whatever you call them. The stupid idiot must have not seen them go outside but they did and I guess they got pregnant. They started getting big so we took them to the vet and the vet said they were pregnant and we are going to spay/neutor all the kittens and the cats.

I'm not saying that purebreds don't end up in the pound.... They obviously do. I'm saying that having people that want the dog/cat in advance & then breeding for your own personal gain (to have a show dog) is responsible breeding.... Having litters & litters of kittens & then hoping (God forbid nobody wanting any of your kittens) people want them, isn't....

I'm glad that you are taking the cats in to get fixed. That's responsible thing to do. I'm sorry that your cats ended up getting pregnant, BUT it wouldn't have happened if they were already fixed -_-

I don't think breeding anything "for your own personal gain" is responsible. I do not believe in breeding animals to make money. I would never breed even purebred knowing there are purebred dog rescues all over the country. It's just not something I would do. And I think backyard breeders and show breeders are just as bad as the people who breed dogs and forget about them. They are not helping anything. And most people who breed purebred dogs aren't breeding them for show. They are breeding them as money makers and pets.

Personal gain as in, breeding for your next show animal... Not 'just' to make $$$
