Karen, are you just looking at the picures on the websites, or have you actually called each and every centre by phone or personally visited them ? They don't have time to continually update their website on a daily basis, so you might find there are indeed kittens around. Good luck finding a friend for Gizmo

the rescue in leeds got lots

When my old cat died, I wanted to get a kitten right away and was surprised to find that there didn't seem to be any available at the pound. There were some at private "rescue" operations, but they wanted to know your whole life history and get a donation too.

I spread the word among my friends and neighbors, and before long someone's neighbor's cat had a litter of kittens and I got the first pick. My little Pandora was so little that I could hold her in my hand when I brought her home. IMHO, I did a family a favor by taking their kitten and got a wonderful pet. It was well worth the wait.
