khuli loach

Hi Catfish, :)

In my opinion I would say no...you are already overstocked. The Harlequin Rasboras already give you 16" alone which is technically too much if you use the one inch per gallon rule. The Bristlenose will get five inches long and the Neons will get anywhere from an inch to an inch and a half long. That adds another 17" of fish...
I wouldn't add anything else but that's just my opinion.

bugger. actually my harlequins are only about one inch long, not two. they might not even be that. anyway do you think i should get rid of any of my fish? i dont want to. they seem to be doing fine as they are

Well when you buy fish you should always buy ones that your tank can fully support at their adult size. I calculated how many inces of fish you will have when they reach that size. I realize that they are small now but they will grow and you will probably end up losing some of them in time. :(

i say yes for now, because they go on the bottom and you other fish are middle to top...

Hi, :)

Assuming that Catfish will get a larger tank...
Also the Bristlenose does occupy the bottom of the tank.

My problem is that (due to the number of fish already kept in the tank) there will be/and is too much waste etc for that size of tank to keep those fish healthy.

Go the kuhli loach.

I have one in a tank with:

2 peacocks
5 black widow
6 green barbs
electric yellow
spiny eel
6 rosy barbs
kribensis

he has been in there for about 18 months and has his certain areas where you can spot him. I have found that a Bayliss (think that's the name) shell is good for them cos only they can get in but most of the time he never gets chased

that tnak is to small for a bristle nose plec, he'll out grow it. khuli loaches are social fish and do better in groups of three to four. I agree with the poster before your tank is already over stocked. adding more fish will just cuz problems.

I have to say but I think you shouldn't get the kuhlii loach. I personally don't go by the 1" per gallon rule but that's still quite a few fish in there for a small tank, plus there's the fact that kuhlii's are sociable fish - after one of mine vanished the other immediately started hiding and I hardly see him anymore :( I got 2 more today and he's already perked up and started showing his face again.
