What is the ideal tank sizew for Keyholes? Would they be ok in a 10G when young, or better in a 29G tank? Also what fish go good with them? Any suggestions would be great.

Young ones could be kept in a 10g but as jayjay said a 29g would be better.
When Keyholes are young they can be kept with practically any community fish as they are very well behaved. When they get older and are about fully grown they tend to lose that good behaviour a bit IME. Mine have killed off Silver Hatchets, Harlequins, Corydoras. However not all Keyholes may follow this and some will be fine throughout their life. Cichlids have their own personalities and predictions cant really be made IMO.

I'm picking up a male and a female tomorrow and putting them in a 10G tank for the time being. Then when my 29G is totally done cycling I'm going to add them in there. Do you know what combo would be best? Like 1 male 1 female or 2 females and 1 male? DO they breed easy?

Is it pretty easy to tell male from female? When they are young do the males tind to be larger then the females? What is something that I can look for to tell them from male and female when I go to get them?

I find them to be very hard to sex just by looking at them..

especially when they are young..

I don't really know what to tell you to look for.. longer pointier fins on a male maybe.. that's one of the things I looked for when I was trying to sex mine..

I don't think they're too easy to breed, but I don't think they're neccessarily hard either.

I have 4 keyholes in my 30g tank. they are about 2" and very peaceful as they have lived with angels all since they were tiny they are very calm and dont mind anything. if they are with smaller fish they will become aggressive. and kill them other good fish to keep them with is other cichlids like rams and kribs.
