hi i have a 200 litre tank ammonia nitrite 0 nitrate 40 i have got 6 red eye tetra a sailfin molly a german blue ram and last week bought 2 small keyholes yesterday when the lights came on one of the keyholes has a fin missing and a bit of the tail fin. this morning when the lights came on the other keyhole has a fin missing now as well he was fine yesterday any ideas what this could be?

try and watch whats happening when the lights are off, see if the fins are getting bitten off.

i have tried to watch as much as i can but thats the strangest thing from what i can see none of the other fish go anywhere near them

Could it be the keyholes attacking each other? You need to watch their behaviour more closely to get an idea I think

yeah i have been thinking that too but from what i can tell they seem fine with each other in the day both usually close together no signs of aggression

fish can have very differing behaviour during the night, maybe turn the lights off early enough to get a view of things for a while. Alternatively do you have a friend with a suitable tank you can temporarily place one of the keyholes in for a bit to see what happens?
