hi, i am just setting up my marine tank and thought i would put my progress on here as i have learnt most of what i need to know on here plus i can see my own progress. i went to my local marine shop saturday (heritage aquatics in walington) and bourght the ro unit, salt and a few other bits and pieces. they were very helpfull and told me all i wanted to know.
i set the ro unit up under the sink and run the good water straight into my tank, its been 2 days now and its half full so 2 more days and it should be there.
i have already set up my 150w light with blue lights. i made the glass sump saturday so thats ready to go in i will add pictures later of the sump.
thats about it for now. here are a few pictures. i still need a overflow box so untill then i cant really do anything else untill i get that

Sometimes its a good idea. Best way to check is to test the TDS of it :)

Lookin good so far Ken, keep those pics coming :D

Hey Ken,

I have a Trigon 190 set up as marine (all the stats are below in my signature). Had it set up for about 4 months now, and I am really pleased with how it is looking.

I've kept the original Jewel light unit though, so its a LRWFO set up at the moment.

thanks for that, i was really starting to wonder weather to do it or not because of the money i will have to spend on live rock to start with. but after seeing yours i think i will go for it. thanks

a few picks of the sump, the black stuff is just safe silicon from a backround the tank had on it before

Nice sump, I dont have one on mine, have you already got the tank drilled?

Thanks for the comments on my tank. I only added the other angel 3 days ago, but he has settled in fine. I made sure he was a different colour as this helps. Heres some more pics (sorry for hijacking the thread!)

My sand sifting star is out about, my bicolour is very interested:

Here is my other angel along with one of the cleaners and my biggest red leg crab:

My regal tang is still a bit shy and often hides behind this rock when I am near:

no im not drilling the tank im going to get an overflow box. no problem about the thread it just makes me want to do my tank. my local marine shop is doing live rock for £7.50 a kil on the 2-3 december plus i get another 10% discount so i shall get it then, he told me i need about 50 kil

50 kilos for a 50g tank, thats a lot. More is always better, but if money is tight you can get away with around 25-30kilos if you have to

Yer it is a bit, tbh mines a rio 240 a 55 gallon and ive got 40 kilos in it and well thats more then enough filtration as min i needed was 25, and the rest is for aquascaping, remember u need room for the fish to swim if u keep corals :good: . Isnt urs a 190 or 350? cos 190 is like a 45? cnt remember and a 350 is about 80 gallons i roughly making out?

Nice tank mike again looks great, mixing dwarfs are great fun but dangerous in some ways. however wish i had a different dwarf for one of mine but ive had her for ages now so i cnt just send her back its mean :fun:
