Juwel Pump Flow Problem

hi all,
i have never cleaned my Juwel rekord 600 filter pump and am a little nervous to say the least, i need to now as the flow of water is a lot slower the past few days. Can anyone advise me how to do this, i hear that gunge and algae can builld up in the pump and propeller and i think this is where the problem lies.
Any help advice or You tube clips would be much appreciated!!

Use a wet cotton bud to clean inside the impeller cavity and around the impeller itself if caked up. A gentle squeeze of the filter sponges or rinse of the filter media in removed tank water will help too. If the filter is an internal, dunk the filter casing a few times in removed tank water.

thanks i have managed to clean the filter sponges in tank water but could not get either a cotton bud or toothbrush down far enough to clean the impeller. The main thing though is that the pump water seems to be flowing better now
