Also i was thinking..this..........its a bit cheeky but.......you dont get anywhere without asking these days...

If i go to see the tank, and its what im after, and she doesnt sell on ebay (no bids so far) should i make her an offer, or give her the starting price thats shes asking £150 ??

Suggestions..lol

Not cheeky at all - if you don't ask you don't get ;)

Is £150 a fair price do you think? Or should i start at £120? I dont want to embarass her or anything...i realise how much they cost brand new, but you never usually get what you want for something second hand..unless its perfect, which i have yet to find out, tonight hopefully i will see it :D

Depending on the condition of course. And make ultra sure all the bits are working.
I've bought a second hand tank before only to find out the heater is leaking and the filter had bits missing :grr:
If it's a Vision, I think £150 is a fair price for a year old tank & stand included if in great condition. If it's the standard then offer £120 and see what she says.

Hi,Clairel.I have just done a fishless cycle, and it is well worth it.Iused very fine Gravel, and bought a collection of Plants from Greenline to start me off.I put 2 Teaspoons of Ammonia in the tank(Try not to breath). You can get Ammonia from Hardware Shops by the way. Then I added 1 Teas apoon a day to keep the Reading up to 5 ppm.It took 15 days to fully cycle.
I did get fed up at about 12 days, but gave myself a good talking to,then every thing happened at once
Th best thing about a fishless cycle,is that you can add more fish when it is finished :)
Oh and I had the temp at 80 Degrees.Hope this helps you Clairel.

Worth mentioning how many US gallons you are speaking of. The length of a cycle depends on a few factors.

Hi Bloozoo2,My tank is about 30 uk Gallons.

Ah ok - I though as much judging from the time it took you to cycle it. :)
I would expect Claire's tank to take roughly twice as long.

Well ive just got back from going to see the Juwel 180 Tank, and its perfect !!! Absolutely excellent condition, not a mark on it, loads of extra stuff with it.... So all i have to do now is put a bid in :D Fingers crossed guys that i get it, Wohooooooooooooooo
