"No one is a failure unless you try"
Since trying to take pics of my juvies while they are still in their none-too-clear containers doesn't yield the best results of all time, I finally got around to setting up a real photoshoot!
Here's my betta photographic torture chamber. I only have one beanie box (normally used to house a beanie, btw... I was lured into that hobby as a child and still keep my faves, like Radar the bat, whose box that is,) so I had to improvise about a second container for the flare decoy
The black orchid boy is first up. He's getting more white marbling now.
Next is his bro, first in line to be spawned after the betta show in mid October . I loooove this little guy. He has such a handsome face and an AMAZING flare display. His posturing is nothing short of fantastic; I just can't say enough about him
One of the little flare decoys, hehe. He's going off to a new home Monday (as yet undecided to whom)
The other flare decoy. His fins just gradually degraded to this condition after he was jarred and they have never grown back... it's really weird . Any of you folks who already asked for a male wanna call dibs on this guy? He's the biggest and most colourful of the adoptees at the moment, despite being "special". He was flaring his heart out for me!
This is the fish who still had some red left in the "Picks of the litter" thread. He's super thick. I think of a big ol' slab of salmon every time I look at him
This one doesn't know how to flare, just repeatedly bite the glass in an effort to attack his brother.
The newest marble to show up in the growout. He's such a stunner, I think.
Most marbley of the marbles. I love this guy too, he has the sweetest little face, yesh him does
The first marble to show up. I'm keeping this one for myself and may breed him eventually as a marble CT plakat project... I'm attached to him
I had been hoping this one would be female, but nope. He has somewhat jumbled scales, as you can see, so sadly he'd not a very good candidate for show
The "regular" coloured boys... This is Ipos Jr. who will be starting the copper CT plakat line if I find a cheap copper CT female soon
This guy makes me think of a matador or flamenco dancer
Lastly, the females I'm keeping... This lady will start the copper CT plakat line if I find a copper CT male instead of a female. The picture does her no justice, she was made about being put in the beanie box
Aaaand little miss Blondie, who is to be paired with the second guy from the top
