so looks like a trip back there tomorrow!
but i got my r.o water today and lots of it from lfs :D

Will the 3 kg of live rock be ok in there for now? :/
As i was goin to use liverock as my main filter and know i need about 15 to 20 kg of it

300watt heater
2x seio's powerhead 620
aquamedic flotor skimmer

my salt is reading at about 1.022 is that ok?

Good to see you are on your way

I would top your water up an 1" or so (upto the black lip), so you can tell when you need to do further top ups

Your 3kgs will be lonely but fine

I would up to sg to 1.026

Also make sure your skimmer lid is on as well as the nut that attached the pipe to the main body is tight as these are spots that will leak

ok chac thanks for all the advice you have given me!
it was topped upto the black line intill i turned the skimmer on will sort it now

:good:

I've got my salt reading at 1.025, you better add some more salt. What do you plan on keeping in there? If you want corals I think you better add some more light. Other than that it looks like you have a great tank :good:

I was not really thinking of haveing corals just yet as i have no experience with marine!
Really just wanted fish and clean up crew also im going to put another light in next week i will see out it goes! :)

Oke if its just fish and liferock, your light will be good enough! :good:
What kind of fish are you looking at?

Paula

At the moment i have only decided on two clownfish
theres alot more choice than freshwater so i aint really sure lol :D

Nice way to start m8 a few tips i would give.
change the seios so they are just the camera sort of look (loose the casing) and the have them how u like cos they will produce a stronger and wider current as in the case they hit the bottom then flows out so it looses its ufm as it were...

For LR the amount uve got is fine as it starts the cycle. However when buying LR try save some money unless ur lFS is cheap LR is expensive. go on aquarist classifieds through google and search there u can get some great bargins on LR or IMO i found 1st4aquatics.com very good for LR 5 kilos is 50 quid but its like next working day delivery and i was always pleased with wot i got :)

As chac said def boost it up in SG ive got mine on 1.024 to 1.025 as its more natural sea levels.

Part from that looking good :good:

Hi an gl with ur tank. I was just wondering if u could put some pictures up of ur aquascaping once it's done as I have the exact same size tank as u and I am struggling with mine. It seems that most tank pictures u see for ideas have at least 18"-24" in height an from front to back also 18"-24" an this seems to make it a lot easier to aquascape than the 12" an 15" i have been working with. It makes it look very cramped. Hopefully tho I will be upgrading soon so....

Will get some more pictures up this weekend now i have got more liverock! alot of creatures have been coming out lately a bristle worm ive seen loads of little star fish and a crab not to sure what sort it is though its not come out the rocks alot to have time to take a picture its the same shape as a emerald mithrax crab buts its orange in colour and spiney lol im not sure if my tank as cycled as there as been no change in amonia or nitrate its all on 0 :S

How long have you had your LR in there

You may not see a change if the LR was fully cured

well i got 10kg in now! and ive had the system running about a week and half
