Just Out Of Interest.. Is There Any Part Of This Forum That U Avoid?

Marine section for me aswell
good.gif

i wonder if all the 'marine section' replies will be the same in a few yrs when different people have kept tropicals for a time... i know i was never interested, then i saw the tank for sale and was hooked! till i lost £220 worth of coral overnight despite fighting to save it.. deffo will go nano next time.. more tricky again, but equally as satisfying :)

Lol yeah, ive never really been interested in marine, in my lfs I do have a look at the marine section fish but it doesn't seem to catch my eye the way freshwater does, dont get me wrong, marina tanks are beautiful, I just personally prefer freshwater, maybe one day ill have a try at marine :)

You guys are all boring :fun:

lljdma06 Has spent AGES starting to do up the marine section as more and more people start appearing! Besides there are LOADS of nice photos and information there!

My photos are there  everyone demands to see photos from people and you miss half of them!! Mental people!!

There is something for everything, you dont have to know anything about marines! Thats why its there! For people to learn!

You dont only hav to learn about what you keep, you can learn without keeping! The fact that you will be tempted as you wont be able to get it off your mind is besides the point!!!

And whoever said you cant have green in your marine tank... you are wrong! Look at Lljdma06's Marine Tank Journal "Pearls of the Antilles" (i think its that one!) where she has created a lovely Native tank (Florida coast i think!?) with lots of different species of algaes in purple/red and green with other excitings as well!

Marine keeping isnt difficult, it may cost more, but you get what you pay for! Marine tanks have far more dimensions to them!

That aside...

I rarely visit livebearers or siamese fighters, generally because its all the same :p most peoples beloved fighters depress me :p tatty tailed fish that aggravate every other fish and bring out the worst in even the most gentle fish! Bah! And guppies are worse!

Hybrids... have replied in their a few times but it just disgusts me and i cant bear reading about people promoting it or just 'giving it a try' just because they cant get their heads round what they are destroying in the process!

Hmmmm

And Pet section.... used to be there all the time but have found that if it isnt a cat or dog, no one is really interested... to me, people posting photos of thir slightly more uncommon pets is really interesting!! But aparently its just me that thinks so :p

Sorry to appear even more boring but I have no interest in learning about them whether I want to keep them or not! I never even look at marine fish in shops, unless there is a particularly big set up. The fish look impressive but don't interest me at all.

I learn about all sorts of fish I don't keep, in case I ever do own any, but marines will never be among them.

I can see myself getting into marines in the future though.
Not anytime now though.

I avoid the betta section like a plague, cuz they are all crazy. I venture in there once every few months to reconfirm this.

i totally agree.... theyre in a world of there own!

+1  I agree some bettas are beautiful and I did get quite attached to my last one as he was a bit weird, but the "oh look at my beautiful boyyyy" stuff is too much.

Hahah I do agree with that Soybean! Lol... crazy betta people... though will admit i do follow breedind diaries SausageWinkle posts on her bettas as its fascinating and i admit i was curious about trying my hand at breeding bettas.... definately not now! Hard work and too many babies!

Scientific Discussion

bit too high brow for my miniscule intellect.

oh, and the Betta one.......simply don't get the fascination with them that some have.

Well my Siamese fighter doesn't aggravate anyone in his tank! He's a lovely chap who seems to be 'Grandpa' to all the baby Platys, of which there are now many!! They do have odd personalities but in my opinion that just makes them more interesting :p

Marine for me as well..... as I have no positive contribution to make there...... I know zulch about them......

Same, dont know anything, and dont currently plan to set up one due to cost, and already having 2 trpoical tanks to run.

As SFF said however, i always look at them in the LFS, you cant walk past without having a nose, and it all looks so nice, just so bloody complicated and time consuming. (Not that trops cant be at times!)

Dont go in Oddballs much either, again, know zilch about them, and they would nenver fit with my stocking...

Not being one to buck the trend, it's marine for me too. And oddballs and hybrids. And Old World Cichlids.

Oh, and Other Pets. If I wanted to fawn over cuty cuty kittens, I'd go onto CCKF, not TFF.

I avoid scientific like it's a leper colony - its too confusing. We betta people aren't that crazy o.o we just think they're awesomes with their personalities! Each and every one is different!
