Just Out Of Interest.. Is There Any Part Of This Forum That U Avoid?

even though i'm a mod there are places i also try to avoid. The Betta section is one (they have there own mod), i have never got the fascination that surrounds Bettas. Ugly things. I also cannot get my head around the whole 'how many gallons, can i keep my Betta in' discussions/arguments.

The old world section, as again they hold no interest for me.

I'm glad no one has said the planted section! :hey:

anywhere Tizer posts  :D
ouch!

What i want to know... and be honest..... after reading all of the above, how many have since gone back, and read some of the Marine section, lol.

I myself am guilty, never read the Marine forums, then I read people defend them, and of course had to take a look after that!

There are 47 Forums here (the sub-forums are not counted in this total). I basically do not visit nor post in 36.

I rely on the "View New Content" button mostly and then limit myself to threads which have 5 or fewer posts in them. I will also check into threads where I have posted, but will not post again in them more often than not. A few threads I do actually post multiple times.

Places I never (or almost never) go because I have 0 interest and/or 0 experience:

Welcome To Tropical Fish Forums- No interest
Bettas- Not kept in 8 years and then mostly non splendens
Gouramis and Anabantoids- I don't keep them any more
African/Old World Cichlids- Don't keep
KillieFish- Don't keep
Oddball's Institute- Don't keep
Brackish Forum- Don't do anything with salt.
Hybrid Fish- Would rather this not be allowed on any fish site at all.
Predatory Fish- Irrelevant to me.

Members Aquarium and Fish Pictures- I just can't look at any more- have seen many, many 1,000s already
Monthly Competitions- Don't care and dislike the concept of the contests.
Local Aquarium Clubs and Societies- Have better resources for this info.
Fish Species Index- I have much.much better sites for this sort if info
TFF FAQ Topics- No clue what its for and no interest in finding out.

The Planted Forums- I normally regret posting in planted forums and for years have refused to join dedicated plant site forums as well. This despite having kept 10 or more planted tanks for over a decade. I have mostly stopped using the planted forums here at this time except for chiming in on things like using wire ties to attach plants or rinsing substrate.

All 6 Marine Forums- I dislike salt water itself (don't go in the ocean) and have no interest in keeping marine anything.

All 3 Other Pets Forums- Not relevant to me.

All of the General Forums except the Music part of the General Hobbies Forum

Boy, I never realized how much of general aquarium sites I have ignored over the years. The above info could be applied to any of the general fish sites I have used. It seems the longer I am in this hobby the more time I spend on more specialized sites and the fewer areas I use in the general sites.

I mistakenly wandered into the Predatory Fish section ... ONCE. Never again, thanks. But I read most of the rest of the forums because I have my browser linked to "View new content" which isn't picky about which topics are covered. I am a little

by the "oooo my booful betta boy" posts, but I just try to stay away.

Frankly, if the post has an interesting title, I'll likely take a look

Ive been there a few times since, lol.

Actually I've been following Liz's journal, just because it's so entertaining!

Betta peeps be crazy foo!
Also would love to try salt water.....but being in school and having no job i cant see my tank getting any further than live rock in it.

Im probably the reason most people dont go into the oddballs forum...i have a tendency to freak out on newbz who see a puffer fish at a local fish store and immediately think "Awwww a cute little puffer fish! He will go into my community tank and i will try and feed him flakes!" .....bugs the #@$% out of me....some people...IT ONLY TAKES A LITTLE TIME OF RESEARCH TO TAKE AWAY HOURS OF TROUBLE!!! But nooooo everyone wants a tank too small to put all the fish they want in it and have every fish be happy .....anywho enough ranting....
