Just Made A "tree"

I agree that it's a beautiful tree but not necessarily in that setup.  My recommendation would be to put in a lot more plants like the ones in there right now to create a mini-"jungle".  Just a suggestion, though

Okay, try this rip every thing out and leave the blimpin tree!
Then remind me to take option four before trying to help you.

A bit over my head!

And frapadoodle, I'm on Option 4 again and I still have an ugly tank. But if I work on Option 4 long enough, it might get prettier ...

Royston, I think that tank is a bit larger.

I like the way it looks but I think that it seems a bit too obvious that the horizontal tree is covering the filter and as a result looks unnatural. You may want to shift it a little bit or make it so that it doesn't cover the whole filter to make it look a little bit more natural. Also, I believe you should add some more "green" to your tank, or add some more plants for example put a little smaller ones in the front and rows of bigger ones in the back since I think you have too much wood and stone for the amount of plants.

You mean the vertical piece of wood? That's kind of the anchor to this whole thing. Picture a tree underwater that's decayed to nothing but driftwood.

I had a dream about your tank last night!! It was exactly how I drew it, and it looked amazing :p
I personally think the Vallis needs to go on the right side. Your Lone Tree looks good as it is, and when the Java Fern grows, will look even better.

Can you post a pic of how it looks now? Im gonna say that you're tiger barbs are looking kinda sick. Their butts are floating and they're swimming down. Is this normal?

Mine do that sometimes, and they're fine.
I notice they sometimes do it when following the 'leader', might be a form of submission?

Quite normal behavior for barbs, my greens do it too. It's funny to watch them all swimming around, then the big guy points his nose down and starts flapping his fins and the rest follow. Such weird little fish, i love them

Mine mainly do this shortly after their meal. I've read that it might be mating behavior, although mine will never get that chance! I did have one die a few months ago, the smallest one, but she was doing the shimmy very violently before she died.

These are the most social fish I have, always shooting over to the glass whenever I approach. I had my doubts when I first got some (only 4 or 5) because they were so nippy to the other fish in my community tank. That's when I got them their very own 29g and upped their numbers to 14. It was amazing the difference in their behavior! I later added 6 red eye tetras, then even later a flying fox, and all the inhabitants get along wonderfully. They do chase each other around but there is no nipping ever. I just discovered one of them has a heart-shaped spot on one side!

So, as I was adding some plants to this tank from my 55g, I bumped the !@#$% tree and it came off the rock I had it glued to. Crap. So I just yanked it out of there in a rage and stuck it in the sand of my cory tank (pictured in my sig). After calming down a bit, I find I actually like it there much better. So do about 100 shrimp and my oto! They think it's the best thing I've ever done.

One problem I have in both the cory tank (20g) and my 55g is that I have all this java moss which is trying to overtake both tanks. Great stuff, just too much of it. Should I just yank a bunch out and throw it away?

Well where to start?
Sorry about the umpity tree after all the trouble you've had with it. But glad to know the shrimp and fish are so excited about it.
As to the moss, no-one you can give some to?
