this is a scary topic!!

just since i'ved started my job at a LFS in October I'ved spent around the region of £3-4000 i reakon.

although that includes buying and setting up new big tanks. 600 on a brand new ehiem tank, about another 600 on my big tank complete set up. then quite a bit on fish. just bought a tank at 400 then i need to set it up another 200 i reakon should cover it.

and now i'm spending aorund £10 a week on food.

£50 a quarter towards electric bill. and i'm think of doing marine.....i dont think i will now, too expensive!!

I spent about $900 US on my new 60 gallon Tropical. I bought everything brand new and that includes everything from the stand to the fish.

I have been quite lucky as I got my tank, filter and pretty much everything bar the water, fish and decorations which I had to buy, suppose you could say I landed on my feet.

I have spent about £200 on fish, eqpt and decorations so far although I do have more purchases in mind once the wife goes shoe shopping!!!

Nearly $1000CAD since September.. and it boggles me wondering where I got all that cash, cos I'm in university!

It was $800 last time I totaled it and that was 2 months ago..

me too... I think it's because whenever I see something in a shop, like clothes, shoes etc that 'normal' people would spend their money on, I think 'that money would buy me a L... plec' and I'd much rather have the fish. whenever I get any money it's spent on fish or fish equipment. I hardly spend any money on myself, it all goes on the fish.

ok, not tooo much i suppose now i only have one tank but im gettin anew one approximately this year ill be spendin bout hmmm 400 (new tank) +500 last tank includin fish and filter lite heater ETC oscars 50 food 100 other stuff bout 200 wats that hmm 1250 $ pobably this year each year this will go up as im planning a new tank each year till whenever i stop also does any1 here board cuz in high school im goin to bored and want to bring my fish do they let u THEY BETTER!!

I don't wanna total my sum up because I don't want to scare myself.

My feelings exactly - I refuse to even think about it ! and I deny all costs involved

Not that much average of about £5 a week so about £260 per year but it's more like £300 if you include plant stocking and stuff.

well i always think about it unfortionatly! every thing in my sig was purchased this year sence feb! except 1, 10g and that i bought last year! every thing was bought new so i would say roughly = $3800 -$4000 US. This is my first year so ask me again in febuary 2006!

I would hate to even think about it. I already feel like I should put Petsmart on a bank draft. I'm in there 3 or 4 times a week and always seem to buy something. Hopefully, when I get the 75 gallon completely stocked, the weekly expenditures will level off.

Judgeing by last weeks few hundred quid i spent in a few days i would not like to say, its too depressing.
