A lady in her 80's who spent time and money making a garden at her retirement home look beautiful for 17 years has been left distraught by a jobsworth councillor who demanded that the garden, which is shared, enjoyed and loved by all the elderly residents and won awards, be removed as a "fire hazard"
The garden is nowhere near the fire exits at the property, its nowhere near to the pathways from the fire exits...the lady was extremely careful not to impede any access. No-one has said that the garden was a problem for 17 years...til this idiot decided that a sledgehammer was required on it.
Jobsworth of the year. The photos prove that there wasn't any issue with access, the garden was tended to by the residents, it gave them something to do and something to enjoy......17 years no issues....but now it suddenly is an issue. Absolutely disgraceful imho.

Grandmother left devastated after council destroys garden display
Gillian Davies, 86, was reduced to tears when workers ordered by South Kesteven District Council smashed up the garden (pictured before and after) she had spent the last 17 years working on.
