Got 3 young jewels last August. They were about 1 in then and still grey. The largest soon started turning red and was in full glory by Oct. The mediu one eventually started turning reddish in Feb and is currently a pinkish colour. The smallest is still in juvenie silver grey colours. They are all siblings from the same batch of fry. Apart from the fact that the largest bullied his siblings and maybe ate more food, can't understand why they developed at such different rates.
Will the greyish one ever turn Red? Is there anything wrong with it?

i think this later development might be down
to pecking order but i am not to sure
i have seen something similar in my tanks
in the past do you know which are male and females
the male is a lot brighter than the female

I have no idea what sex they are. They have shown no interest in breeding, perhaps because they are not mature.Could the smaller grey one be female?
