Jelly (need Help)

It's probably some kind of algal or bacterial bloom. Just keep taking it out if you're not happy with it.

yep, that's the stuff I'm talking about. In a week or so it will thicken up and become more white. Mine didn't spread anywhere else, but my substrate is Flourite, and I didnt' have any other sort of rocks or ornaments nearby. I don't think it's harmful to fish, just based on some other stuff I read, but I don't know if an algae eater would touch it, as I think it's more of a mold than an algae. My advice would just be to get a different type of wood.

god damn, I like my mopani wood,
Hmm.. what else would be a nice looking wood and be able for my catfish to munch???

Hmm, you've got me there! All that i required of my wood is that it hold down some java moss! I've got no experience with catfish munchies. I *think* though, that catfish would prefer a slightly softer wood. Mopani is a REALLY hard hardwood (at one point I had the brainy idea to cut a large piece in half. It didn't go well!). I think when you're talking about fish that like wood, they like to kind of make a mess of it.

yeh I agree im thinking maybe Bog wood, or Drift wood...

Now im stuffed I got bits in my tank this will be hard to remove i think,

Well mines not like that then. It does look like snot. good picture you took there.
il keep an eye on mine over the next few days.

What you gonna do then?

I have boiled the wood and the Rock,
just going to put it back in and see how it goes,
Need to buy some more algae eating fish and my Bristlenose Catfish is doing a bad job,
Hopefully I have solved it, if not I'll buy some bog or drift wood
might just get a small piece anyway for my catfish

1 day at work and its all back on the wood,
amazing stuff......
