I would like to tell you about my experience with Java (online plant company).

I have ordered from them before because i was very happy with the value for money etc.

Anyway......I was waiting Tuesday or Wednesday this week for my new lot of plants to arrive and they didnt......i thought thats strange so i emailed them and asked them where they were but they didnt reply!

I ended up ringing them to ask and they siad individual plants are now dispatched on Tuesdays now and you may not get them till FRiday. i was like  :grr:

So i got them delivered this morning and everything was in there apart from the E Tennellus i ordered which made me even more angry seen as they had messed me aorund with not informing people the change of delivery days!!! I then looked at the invoice thing and checked to see if i did order them which i did but next toE Tennellus it said 'to follow'. so that means i will have to wait till next week to get them or even longer!!!!

I emailed them again and asked them when would the E Tennellus be delivered but what a suprise they didnt reply, which shows great customer service (sarcasm)!

So i will be ringing them up tommorow to try and find out.

I think i will try another mail order plants company next time i need to buy some plants!

Sorry but i needed to let that out!

My one and only experience of them was similar. They took my money straight away and the order never showed up. No reply to emails. Took several attempts on the phone. They said they re-despatched but I still never got them..I got tired of chasing them and accepted they'd ripped me off a fiver.

I used Urmston last time and they were great.

Good grief... consider yourself lucky that is all you have to worry about
What is THAT supposed to mean?? Is the OP not entitled to vent about whatever he wants whether someone else thinks it's a big deal or not???

this is one of my MB pet peeves, people who think you should never complain because "someone always is worse off than you". -_-

sorry - I've learnt to chill out a bit as I've got older...
I'm definitely not saying don't complain , just that there is no point getting angry. it gets you nowhere.

I'm sure there was no malicious intent behind them swapping the shipment days... perhaps they have been messed about by their suppliers??

Anyway... I hope you get your plants (all be it late) and they are in good condition.

:S

My first order with them was great, I had no complaints. Yet I'm waiting for a second order. If, going by their delivery schedule, and my last order, Mine should have arrived Wednesday. It didn't. Because of their cheap prices, This doesn't surprise me.

I agree with getting angry with java, at the end of the day you are paying for a service, if you are not happy with the service then let it be known.!! ;)

True, but was it really that madening to you? Mum orders books online and she gets "worried" when they dont arrive quickly but not that upset.

True they should have advertised there change of delivery days though.

My lfs gets plants in for me, and he is on a RARE plants ordering forum, so he can get good ones in for me.....hehehe

i have not been impressed eitehr nor has my friend, his delivers were messesd around as well, and the size a quality of the plants were poor, nothing what i can get form my lfs at that price, alhtouhg admittedly they were differnt plants

I have found that the sizes of plants do vary a lot. I have ordered the same plants twice and sometimes and the first time they were small and the second time they were much larger. I guess its pot luck.

I have used Greenline Aquatics a lot in the past and would highly recommend them. http://aquaticplants.eu.com/ Andy Green, the owner gives great (free) advice too.

BTW you'll probably find the E tennelus will be supplies in the emerged form (grown out of water) and will take several weeks to adapt. Have patience.

I can certainly recommend Greenline, probably ordered 10 times over the past years and Andy picks and selects alot of the plants himself, never sold me anything but quality. Can't fault his service, IMO the best mail order service for plants (he seems to hold and grow on imported plants more than other companies so that the root systems, particularly crypts are very well established)

Lofty
