Hey Everyone :)

Ever since one of our cats got run over (He's okay now) my mum won't let them out anymore. It's okay in the winter as the house is nice and cool but now the summer is here it's just to hot to keep the windows shut, we've resorted to multiple cooling fans but would like to open the windows to get some fresh air in!

Problem is everytime the windows are open the cats jump up and let themselves out! Is there anyway of being able to keep the cats in but have window open at the same time?

The only thought i can come up with is to use some kind of mesh like plastic canvas and bluetac it around the area where the window is open (Only small part of the window opens) and hopefully that should stop them from jumping up? Otherwise i'll get in an electric fence and get the barbwire out?!

Cheers
Dan

Catair to the rescue ! :good: I have them on all my windows.
They guy who sells them is fantastic and if you give him the exact complete measurements he will cut them to size and you just have to stick the bits together which take all of 5 minutes per frame.

They are absolutely fantastic and after 2 years using the velcro fixing method to the frame, it's still working absolutely perfectly.

Worth every penny.

Oh ps - please be VERY sure that your measurements are in centimetres. I got mine muddled up the other day when I ordered an extra screen for another window, and I received the most ridiculously small frame. I felt like such an idiot !
I measured in inches and something that I meant to be 25" came out as 25cm

Bugscreens and window fans also work, so long as your cat itsn't overly eager to get out side.

The tabby is a little terror she spends every minute plotting ways to get out and usually succeeds... She was on top of the roof today!

Thought id found my saviour then! but they dont work on center pivot windows :-( my poor cats will carry on having to go in my bedroom for an hour eveytime i need fresh air not that they do anything but sleep on my bed B)

Can't you pivot the window open then measure the gap top and bottom and get two screens that fit one top and one bottom in the opening?

Anyway, I was hoping for a miracle too, bug screens don't seem to be something they have a lot of call for in England and I don't like the idea of stuff flying in and biting my baby while he sleeps.

Ah well, back to the Betterware velcro jobbie.
