I did not go to the store today. Tonight it's dropping to 9 with a windchill around negative 9, for North Texas I think it will set a record. I got firewood in and mostly stacked and am keeping the woodstove going. fish are good. Chickens need wet water every couple of hours

We put a bottle of saltwater floating in our chickens water container and it’s kept it from freezing for three years now

How does that work? I used to HATE keeping the chickens watered in winter...If I remember right we got some kind of electric water dispenser for them, but it didn't really work.

not cold here...it's 59 F at the moment with rain...tonight will drop into to 12 degrees and will freeze up everything
