Isn't somthing wrong with this betta?

If you look at the first pic you can see the red right on the base of the tail and it matches in your pic. The rays on the tail also match up... I think it's the same fish . Marbles are unpredictable

Those 2 do look like different fish. But he is a marble and marbles do change, quite drastically.

Take a look at this thread it has a good example of how much marbles can change.

Here is another one.

Maybe one day yours will change to look like the betta in the picture from the auction.

I bet that's the same fish nashnut... I mean heck, some of my juvies started out solid red with green iridescent bodies and now they're completely white!
My DT marble plakat was mostly white when I got him, and now the only thing white is is face... his body is completely black!

Yeah...I can't find the thread (although I can't remember any keywords to search for either lol) but Sorrell posted 2 pictures of a marble betta she saw at a show. The fish changed colors over night.,,and it was a dramatic change too, like a WHOA kinda change too. Seems they can do that.

A fish like that would make me so paranoid. Like was I doing something wrong with food or water? I think I'd have a heart attack if one of my bettas did something like that. But, now that I know that marbles do that and that it's normal, I feel better. Great looking fish!

I was talking with Sorrell on the phone as I read this, she say's that betta has the name of an island, like Kauai or something? I can't find a link though. She could if she had internet access, no doubt .

I knew I knew what thread that was... I finally remembered it was in one of MY threads lol.

I thought marble first too, but it seemed so fast...However, this fish in the pictures did this change in the three days I was at the IBC show in Seattle, but once again, light to dark

He'd have to change quite a bit in two weeks. I don't mind though as he's got the genes I want and his spawn sister is beautiful.

I know about the marble changes. I bought a beauty locally and just loved his pattern.... hmm about three months later he was just like that second photo... all blue with a touch of red on his head and nose.

Good dectective work SRC I was indeed tipped off during a phone call, glad you found the pictures. That was a really dramatic change, marbles are tricky like that.
