i have a 20 gallon long and this is what i want to put in it 5 rummy nose tetras 5 neon tetras 5 corys 1 rio negro pleco 5 assassin snails 1 German blue ram cichlid and 1 electric blue ram cichlid i have 30 gallons of filtration and i plan to have lots of live plants and rocks

First off, the tetras and cories need groups of 6, but Im pretty sure that would be too much.

I also wouldnt have both rams, and would stick to one kind. German blue rams are very sensitive to organic wastes (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate) so I wouldnt recommend them to a beginner.

What kind of cories? Several are small enough to be kept in your aquarium. Im not sure the species but someone else can say.

The assassin snails need other snails to eat. Instead I would get some nerites, as they are excellent for eating algae and cant overrun your tank as the eggs only hatch in brackish water.

I wouldnt do a pleco with rams, as plecos are quite messy and rams are sensitive, they will create quite alot of nitrates. They also need a softer wood to rasp, and if you dont have that then dont get them.

Sorry to be so negative, and, Im not sure if Im right, just been googling. Im also not sure for stocking suggestions :/

Oto's don't do well in new set ups as there isn't enough algae for them.
They're lovely fish so if you really want them I'd wait a few months for the tank to mature a bit, they'll still need supplementary feeding though.

The cichlid would probly end up eating your tetras ones they get bigger

I have rummy nose, I got 10 based on what I read on seriouslyfish dot com.  LOVE them!  I made sure to get H. bleheri, and not H. rhodostomus; the bleheri are much more colorful.  Let me say, having a sizeable school of these colorful fish is just awesome!

The advise re otos in a new set up is important.  Also read about them as they have a high mortality rate during the first month.  I bought 5 and I think I only have 1 left.  That one is doing well, though.  Read up on feeding, they love blanched veggies, and I put in zuke strips twice a week.

I don't see you have much for the assassin snails to do, either.  But I've never kept those, so haven't read up on them online.

yes i am aware of this

What are the hardness, pH and nitrate levels in your tap water, OP?

The electric blues are even more sensitive that the normal ones and will not live long unless you have the right water for them.

i dont know im not going to bother with that yet because this tank will be awhile before its ready for fish

IMO you should be fine with 7 tetras of each species, the 7 cories and the ram. And the snails + Pleco too of course. :)
