Searching Lake Ontario for tropical fish...No luck
I am building a website with a friend (fish_r_great) and we are hoping to use some of the things we read on here as help for those who go to our site. We just wanted to make sure it was ok to post your comments/info/links on the website.

P.S - Dont worry, Ill make sure to advertise this forum on the website! ;)

Thanks a lot guys, DRob (and fish_r_great respectively)

Edit--You can also PM if you would like to help!

I would like to get credit for my brillance!!!! Did I spell brillance right?

what exatly will be on this website? a fish index?basic care?

Hi drobbins27 :)

It's OK with me, IF it's OK with William. I think you might want to ask him if he minds if you copy material from his site to use on yours.

I would also like to retain the right to have any such material removed for any reason.

I think that if you want to do fish profile pictures you should ask permission from people to use their individual pictures!! ?? :dunno:  Just an idea! :*) I know that I would like to have credit for any of my photos that you may use!!! Just so people can say, oooooooooooooooo Tina took that........who the Hell is TINA???

I'm going to be the spanner in the works here.
It;s never fails to amuse me, with a little concern when people feel that they can run before they can actually walk.
Some people feel that as a member of a forum where you've been active gives you a carte blanche licence to create their own website.
IMO opinion if the member wishes to create a new website then it should be done with their own experience, and research and burning the midnight oil to set the site away. Whilst I'm sure many members would be delighted to receive credit for their photos and/or comments and knowledge. A webmaster building a site created on such a theme, would show how amateurish they were with a mish-mash of Frankenstein parts.
It would be far more professional to gain some experience first and create a site that is truely personal with an odd reference if necessary.

I have to agree with Dragon, what kind of site are we talking about here, it should be done with your iwn knowledge and experience.

I dont really understand what your trying to get at here. the site is just going answer some questions which are frequently asked, and it will have a little data base with useful info on some common fish. Its just to help ppl out, and dont say that im skippingout on the hard work, I read atleast 30 different pages on taking care of RedOscars, and I plan on putting effort into finding relevant info on everything I talk about on the site. The reason I posted this was because I want to use some of the pics, some of the creative ideas, some of the advice and the DIY projects which work on my site, something for the everyday fishkeeper. Im not going to copy and paste fish info off other sites, no, I am going to read a bunch and try to post the clearest possible answer which may save some people some time.

Thanks, DRob

Well when you want some info or pics, just PM the members whos it is and ask they will either let you have it or not let you have it.
