Is this kind of tank any good for a betta ?

Were you being sarky? I'll presume you weren't :D in which case it might interest you to know that bettas here (in my area, at least) are usually kept in way more than two gallons - they are usually in at least 10g and when I took my friend to buy hers there were a few in 15-20g tanks. (by looks anyway)
You presume correctly. Here in the US the bettas are kept in a speciman cup like you would see at a doctor's office. :/

I agree, they do seem to be living large over there.

Anyway, 2 of my bettas live in 1gallons and they have no illness, disease or depression. The tanks have heaters, but I don't use them, the temperature usually stays room temperature or a degree below.

oh no :(

is there any reason for that? it seems like it would be a lot more maintenance to have to change their water all the time :unsure:
