that .75 is adorable . Is the plastic wrap to cut down on evaporation? I love the Techno light. Could you do a soft coral like a mushroom in that?
The cyran wrap is to help with evap. It evaporates about 1ml a day. I have since made the plastic a bit smaller so it isn't so ugly. This was just to give you an idea. I got this lil tank for 20 bucks at petco. Came with the light and filter. I added 1 lbs of live sand, 2 lbs of live rock and let it sit for 3 weeks to cycle. I have also added a tiny GSP frag. All looks good in there so far. I'll be moving it to my desk at work soon. The only mod i did to this was cut down the arm on the light about 3". I won't be adding a mushroom, get a little to big. I do plan on a few more zoos and maybe a tiny ric.

look close on the live rock, there is a small red one on there :hyper: gotta look hard... thus i have yet to see anythign on mine... :X

Its either a piece of coraline algae, a type of sponge, or a lichon. Not sure which. It doesn't retract at night, or expand in the day. It is also hard, like a thick piece of paint that has chipped off.

I cut a piece of plexi for the top, looks much better now. :) I love this little thing. Starting to get some algae on the glass, the snail can't keep up so i'll have to add another. I need to figure a way to scrape the sides. Its acrylic and if i put my hand all the way in there it overflows. Any ideas?????????

pick it up put in on a bucket and then scrape it so anywater goes in the bucket, then just pour it back in :dunno:

That would work but would be more of a pain than i want to go through. Plus it would stir stuff up when i poor it back in. I might just make my own little scrapper with some cpvc and some polypad.

I have a 5 gal plexi in my living room I use a piece of filter fiber rubber banded to a chopstick to clean the glass. I also have a real small mag-float but that may take up too much room in the little tank. :D

www.nano-reef.com is an awesome site. I spend my time there if i'm not here!!!

the think with my tank is its a pentagon, and its not rectangular or square like the ones on that site. So I guess Ill stay away from SW

I want to do a hex or square tank with seahorses. Takes a lot more time though, so its gonna be something for the future ;)
