Is My Media Choice Alright

I am currently using foam on the bottom, then two sets of Biomax (instead of one Biomax and 1 carbon). Is this o.k.? Judging from this forum, people seem to prefer two sponges instead, but I fiugred two Biomax would be better for bacterial growth and possibly increase my potential surface area , am I wrong?

Also, where should I insert my filter floss in relation to the other media? Would it be too much to add filter floss to the existing set-up?

I have the same setup on my filters 2 sets of biomax and 1 sponge. Bio filtration is good and mech filtration too.

Your filter floss must be on top of the biomax. If you put it before the sponge, your filter will clog very fast.
You should add filter floss If your water is not clear. There's no need to add it if your water is "clear".
