It seems like she is.
Here is a link with pics of her baby i caught today, seems like there is one more swimming in the tank and they are the survivors from the last batch. I have only seen 2 babies only, others got eaten :( before i got to see them.

Oh yeah, she definately looks like she is. Is she eating? Does she open her mouth at all?

Since the other two babies are fine I would force her to spit. If you really like you fish, not the most pleasent expereince but, at least she can eat right afterward. She hold her over whereever you are putting the fry with her mouth point in that direction. You should be able to early open her mouth and gently stroke her throat. If that doesn't work, just bounce her up and down gently - gravity will usually take over here.

Ok lol i have seen it done on youtube so i will have a try today and i am pretty excited.
The reason why i put lol as i was just thinking about that today, thinking what if i had to force it out of her, when i do it will she have to be in the water as i have seen someone force their babies out with the mother out of the water.

Thanks for the big help :)

Hi Guys to everyone reading this :p
I have just bought a plastic breeder tank for now and I put the 2 babies that were swimming around.
Just before i was going to catch the female as she was holding more babies but i wasn't too sure, a baby came out from her mouth and she chased it and back into her mouth again lol. I caught her which was a right hastle as she was swimming into the decorations so I had to take most of them out, so I used 2 nets to catch her.
I put the mother into the breeder tank and tried to massage near the mouth where the babies are and i couldn't do it. She kept really squiggling about which it was my first unsuccessful time :(.
Since she seemed too stressed so I left her in the breeder tank and sorted the decorations out. I could see she was stressed and she jumped around and babies were now hopping out of her mouth lol. 5 More babies came out and she was still jumping around and no more and it looked like they had all come out but never know she could be still carrying more.

So now I have 7 babies really cute looking and they really look like cichlids when they are just born, not like the convicts. I will get pics of them and put them on :)

Thanks everyone for your help.

Congratulations! I cant wait to get my new tank purchased and cycled so I can finally start my tropical journey and maybe one day have the same results! Hope they all survive and lead good lives! The mother is a beautiful looking fish, looks like she is treated very well! Keep up the good work :)

Thanks :) when you begin fish keeping its very exciting & still is for me lol.
Hope you're also successful in your fish keeping journey and i bet you will come across some babies as if you have the time & care it can be easily done. Yeah i think she was starving after those babies as she doesn't really eat while she had them, so she was digging into those bloodworms.
