Is My Betta Going To Die?

Yeah...my fish's condition doesn't look good, accorind to this site. I think he has these symptoms:

Does not eat at all or eats reluctantly and may spit out his food.

Is not active. May lay at the bottom and come up only for air, or may stay at the surface in a corner.

Tail and sometimes fins are clumped, closed, stiff looking or falling apart.

Body may have: open sores, white cottony patches, red spots, lumps or white spots.

I didn't pay much attention to the white spot before, i thought it was just a different coloration spot. Seeing all these symptoms listed under "Sick Betta" doesn't give me a whole lot of hope. I don't think that frozen blood worms alone can save him...

I don't want it to suffer...Any suggestions?

:(

I love bettas.

When I got my common blue betta 2 weeks ago, I put him in a small tank all on his own. He would barely eat and stayed on the surface of the water in a corner near the heater all day long. I give him food but he just won't eat. I guess that's just how he is.

Here's him when he was all alone.

A week later I put him in a community tank with (you won't believe it) with sharks, goldfish, platies, mollies, and a pleco). I can see he's happier than ever. He didn't make trouble with anyone. He flares once in a while, but that's all. He's eating and swimming around more than ever.

He's making friends with a platy.

Just want to let you know how my particular betta behaves. His name is Gerald btw.

What kind is your betta? Mine's a common blue betta.

They can stay without eating foir a long time. Tonight, I hunf a parboiled prawn in the tank, and he's sharing it with the goldfishes and sharks. I will be moving out the goldfishes soon when my new tank is delivered and cycled.

If he has white spots like little grains of salt on him he has ich...or white spot as it's also called. He needs treating for it. I used Protozin for it very successfully in the past.
Once you get treatment under way try feeding live brineshrimp. They seem to be the most popular food with my bettas although bloodworm and tiger prawn come in close behind.
Another thing I've done in the past is to feed babyfishfood to any fish that is unwell and refusing food. The liquifry baby plus stuff is something that I've yet to have refused by any ill fish. I think they just find it very easy to eat and digest so it might be worth trying.
Hugs,
P.
