Is My Angelfish Haemoraging?

Right I'm going to set up my hospital tank, if he makes it I will do as Saedcantas said (thanks btw) and starve him tomorrow and then feed peas the day after. Will keep you all updated but i'm sure i will just end up posting tomorrow to say he passed away in the night. Well fingers crossed. I'll go set up my hopital tank now!

Thanks so much for the advice

To be honest he not out of the woods yet.
Feel abit awful now saying end his misery, teach me a lesson to have more faith in fish.

I think it's hard for anyone to know what to say when a fishes insides are out :(
Good luck by the way with the angel, hope he makes it!

You keep learning everyday not easy on here at times.
Good luck.

The prolapse itself isnt necessarily an end of the world problem, the real issue is whatever caused it ;)

A prolapse becomes a real problem if it gets infected, damaged or so swollen that it simply wont go back in and bloodflow will then become restricted.

Good call on the hospital tank and make sure there are no scratchy plastic plants or ornaments for it to be damaged on :good:

Good luck

More internal infection, internal bleeding, damage to the organ.
Melafix only treats the outside of the fish.
Do you have any medicated food.

No but if anyone can suggest things that may help my angel get better I will go and buy them tomorrow (if he makes it through the night).

He seems ok now, when i netted him he panicked a little and the prolapse came out more but he seems fine in the hospital tank and the prolapse is relatively small.

Thanks again for everyone's help, i think i'd just have a bunch of dead fish by now if it wasn't for TFF!

Bless him.
I've had my fair share of desease but nothing compared to what happened to your angel today.
Not sure if you can buy medicated food in the uk.
Anti internal bacteria med by interpet.
For some reason thought you was from the states till I looked at your location.

Thanks Wilder, I'll have a look around the fish shop tomorrow (once again if he makes it) and see what i can find. You've been a great help. Guess i'll just have to hope he makes it through the night, I usually find if they make it through the night then there's hope!

If you can't get medicated food get the anti internal bacteria med by interpet.
Don't forget to increase aeration in the tank as med reduce 02 in the water.
Good luck, hope he makes it.

Hi just an update, he made it through the night and is as happy and healthy as ever. The prolapse has gone in and i just saw him poop and it was dark and totally normal.

I'm almost more confused now as I don't know whether this means it's not constipation or paraites which caused it. Tolak posted on my thread in NTTH so I'm hoping to get more insight into this.

Also do you all think i should get internal parasite meds now or not? If I do should I treat my whole tank?

Promising news :D :good:

I'd be inclined to keep it seperated for maybe a week until you're sure the fish is doing fine, also treat both the main tank and the angel for internal parasites. It cant hurt to cover that possibility :)

With any luck it was a random one off and everything will be fine, fingers crossed!

I agree, I worm my fish it wouldn't harm to treat for internal parasites, they do alot of damage to the insides of the fish.

Glad things are looking up for him.

Man, that is one of the most disturbing pictures I have ever seen. That looked painful. Glad everything is going well, and way to go Wilder for always being so helpful with sick fish posts, you've helped me out plenty of times... just thought I would thank you even though this isn't my post.
