i think if people dont want to be addressed by there real names then they shouldnt reveal them. i often email strangers ( lol that dosent sound right!!) using an email address that contains my full name, never had any problems, i think it makes things a little more friendly

alright Mrs! LOL

I'm the same as most, Christian names arn't bad. Its when surnames start getting mentioned. Thats when the 'nutters' come out to play!

Anyways my names Ian, if peeps want to call me that its fine.

Gosh, this is turning in to a 'name coming out party '

But I agree with the above sentiments - first names are fine, but keep your Surname secure :good:

Steph :p (I'm out, woo hoo)

I don't mind people who know me using my name, I'd be a bit concerned if someone I've never 'spoken' to started using it though.

I try to address people the way they address themselves.

Yeah my name is Curtis Jackson.

also dont care either tbh a couple of people have used my name (brad) a few times after all theres 1000 of people that share names

I;m surprised that anyone would worry about this, what harm can be caused by someone knowing your name

I use Simonas as my name is Simon Andrew Simmons just a forum name I have always used and I would not be offended by anyone revealing my name is Simon?lol

But seriously I don;t see how it can offend or be disrespectful and anyone who doesn;ty want there christian name revealing is probably being paranoid

I've had people use my name and frankly I'd rather they didn't...otherwise I'd of used my name for a forum ID and the fact that I have a username which is not related to my real name should give a clue as to whether i want my real used or not...

And btw, it's not paranoia...it's being careful.

Well, my chosen name on here "AdAndrews" is my real name, Adam Andrews, shortened slightly as many people(friends and family) call me Ad,

If those who havnt got their proper names, if they reveal their proper name on the forum, then as far as im concerned thats what you call them back, if some one posted saying

".........."

thanks
John,

then i would say, ahh, thanks John :hyper:

That is my way of looking at it too.

On the general forums i use a different name, but on the forums that seriously interest me i use my name, as far as im concerned if people want to call me Matt then theres no problem with me, and to be honest it makes me feel a little more welcome too :)

if i didnt want peopple to know who i was then id use my other forum name and the alternate email address i have

Besides, i get called far worse at work every day anyway :fun:

To me, I don't care. If someone want's to call me Zeke, then sure, go ahead. If they want to call me Kribensis12, Krib, Kribensis, whatever, I don't care. Whatever your prefernce.

Zeke is an interresting name... Origin??

The Holy Bible. The book of Ezekiel. I also had a grandpa named Ezekiel. They called him Zeke.

According to behindthename.com

EZEKIEL
Gender: Masculine

Usage: Biblical, English

Pronounced: i-ZEE-kee-əl (English), i-ZEE-kyəl (English) [key]

From the Hebrew name יְחֶזְקֵאל (Yechezqel) meaning "God strengthens". Ezekiel was a major prophet of the Old Testament, the author of the Book of Ezekiel. He lived in Jerusalem until the Babylonian conquest and captivity of Israel, at which time he was taken to Babylon. The Book of Ezekiel describes his vivid symbolic visions which predict the restoration of the kingdom of Israel. As an English given name, Ezekiel has been used since the Protestant Reformation.
