I currently have a Roma 125l but I have recently been offered a Roma 200l very cheap, I know that sounds like a no brainer (Just get the tank) but heres the thing, I don't want to end up with an expensive electricity bill :/ does anyone know from personal experience if it is expensive running 2 tanks? Im fully aware of the maintenance that is involved with it all, the only thing holding me back is the cost.

Help me make up my mind Please!

Well...this is coming from a guy that has 3 tanks...I don't really notice it on my electric bill. If you really are penny penching, change out some lights to LED. They use less power than most light sources. I am actually adding a 4th tank to the arsenal this week. It may be a couple dollars a month, but not much.

I have three fish tanks and my parents haven't said anything to me about it being too much.  I think it should be ok :)

Thanks :) I think i'm going to go ahead and get it, I really want a bigger tank

I think it's a great opportunity.  You can get new fish and try out new things.  Do you have any thoughts on what you will do with it?

Two tanks, nothing to worry about :)

Try 13, and only 2 of them under 200L and a £60/week electric bill

Hehe, nothing to worry about there ;)
Only thing you should worry at this time is water change logistics.
Hopefully you have extra bucket, syphons, nets, and if not already, a python.

Definitely think you should go for it :) Hope to see pics when/if you get it.

Idk about power but i have 5 tanks in my room and my dad always complains haha but he never tells me how much.

Dads always complain about excess power usage. It's our job.

I have to agree there. Mine always gripes about how I'm wasting water every time I do a water change, he wants me to change 20L a week, if that. LOL xD And he wants the filter off as much as possible (I have a sump) because it uses too much power, according to him. :p

I saw the title of this thread and I was like, "Isn't it, though!" LOL take it from a 16 year old who, alas, cannot indulge her MTS even if she were to pay for the tank herself...Another tank is ALWAYS a good idea, as long as you have enough time to care for it! ;)

Haha these are all great reply's :p but i've decided i'm going to go ahead and get it :D. As for stocking, i'm considering going cichlid or discus as I already have a community aquarium. However, in my 125l community aquarium I have two leopard ctenopama's and a gibbicep pleco that need moved into the larger tank, does anyone know if they go well with cichlids or Discus? I read somewhere that they do but I'm not too sure :/ if anyone could give me some advice on that it would be a great help :D

Oh and any other stocking idea's are welcome :D

i wouldnt mix cichlids with really anything but catfish, unless your getting cichlids like angels, rams, or geos that i know of.

Getting another tank is always nice and tempting

Glad you're thinking things through regarding electric bills and the possible implications.

Its fairly simple really, if you have an idea on how much your 125l costs to run, the 200l will cost a tiny bit more.

I did have 3 tanks running at one point and to be honest never really noticed the electric bill going much higher.

the increase in your electric bill will be small..i currently pay about $350.00 USD per month because i am running about 75 tanks...
f the pleasure it gives me were not worth the cost , i wouldn't do it.
