Is An Airpump Ok To Use With Bettas?

Stress zyme doesn't do anything its just another thing to ripp people off. Maybe the reason the water is dark and cloudy is because stress coat isn't a dechlornator, well it is but it's main use is to help calm down stressed fish and help reproduce there slime coat if they jumped out of the water so if I was you I would go to your petstore and get some decholrnator called amquel+ I use it and it is fine. You should use 1 teaspoon for the 10g. Also you will need to empty the water out in the 10g, rinse it out including the gravel and fake plants, refill it and treat the water with amquel+ or any other decholrnator you see but make sure to read instrustions on how much to add per 10g of water.

If I were you, I'd put that pump to good use and hook the it up to one of those little filters designed for them. That's what I always use my air pumps for. :3 And if your find the current is too strong, you can buy a small plastic air control valve, mine are blue and were only a couple bucks. That lets you turn down the air flow so the fish isn't blown away by a strong current.

Ack, my friend just found out I got a new tank and shes trying to get rid of 2 neon swords which are small she said. She can't even have fish at her new apartment o.o Anyways she wants to know if I want them, will they get along with a male betta? My betta seems to be a lazy butt since I got him in july but I've always had him alone.

Not sure on this, bettas can be ok with fish like corys, and some people have them with other fish and its fine, but not always.
I dont know anything about neon swords so i can answer it, i'm sure someone will know.

Heres some pics of all the stuff while I was unpacking it. :D

Don't forget you will have to do this before you can add fish to it.

Actually I turned this so called air pump thingy back on and it seems to be clearing up better now..friend ran by too and dumped the neons in it.. and they seem to be having fun chasing each other and making me laugh. They like to go to the corner where the bubbles are, pop up in em, and fly away and repeat.. I haven't added my betta yet but I will tonight.

She said they're "Neon Swords' from what I'm reading online they are compatible. I'm gonna watch over them for a few hours atleast to see how they are incase I need to play 911 and kick the neons out.

Yeah I did and they look sorta similar yet they dont..cept mine are like black with yellow eyes. Heres some pics I just took back I couldn't get any decent ones.

I'm looking at pictures of black mollys on google and the colors are same but all the ones on google are much fancier looking and larger than these. These things I have are really small really and almost no fins. the mollys on google seem to have really nice fins.

Hi everyone. I got a betta boy in july and have had him in a little half gal. tank until today! Petland had a 10gal start kit on sale for only $12 so I went ahead and bought it since I had the money. =) Now my question is, it came with gravel, food, chemicals and an airpump.. I want to make sure its ok to put the airpump in a bottom back corner with a betta. I just wanna have it in there to have it.. but I need to make sure its ok. Thanks =)

12 Bucks!!! Too bad there aren't no Petlands in california or else I'll be there buying the tank...Well I don't think you would want a betta in a tank with a pump... I read that Bettas like calm water thats why people don't buy strong filters when they have a betta in the tank. If you want something that makes your tank look cool but doesnt cost that much...Get a fogger. That makes the top of your tank fog up...But dont worry it doesnt fog the water...Just the air on top of the water. But Im not sure if your betta would like to take in fog into his lungs.

If I wasn't broke I'd buy another one of these tank sets just to have around at this price. Maybe if I make enough tips tomorrow.. =)
