as some of you might remember i had a normal cat flap put in recently. now everynight, i lock the flap but there is another cat been trying to get into the house everynight. eat all the food and pee in the kitchen. i have even try to barricade it the bin and still the intruding cat still manage to get through. my two cats are so placid they are not bother about the other cat invading their territory. how do i stop it. is there a way where i can make the cat not come back? i don't want to buy the magnetic or the infared one, as i don't want my cats to wear collars all day.

If the cat is a stray, personally i would trap and take it to the RSPCA or some similar animal adoption agency to deal with  .

Are you sure it's not a small dog. Most dogs love cat food. They'd pee all over, even if they are house trained. Some dogs understand not to go in thier owners houses, but they don't think this applies to other peoples homes. There are traps you can get that will not hurt the animal. put the cat food inside the trap. To make sure your cats don't get cought you could leave them inside and lock them out of that room. Then set another bowl of cat food out for them. I would them check the animal for an id. If fit doesn't have one that you can see, then you could bring it (as mentioned above) to the RSPCA or another adoption organization.

i was afraid that might be a fox at first but is definitely a cat, ive seen it, just not quick enough to catch it. it is bigger cat than my two ( and i have maine coons!). it just look too well fed to be a stray - but than again it might go to all the other houses throughout the night for a fed. next door have a cat flap too, but they don't have this problem, their cat is not as tolerant as mine.

you can get a cat deterrent spray!
or mving the cat food at night...
the cat should soon forget it!
hehe;)

Bloomin cheek! not only coming in to eat the food, but having a pee while it's there!! Hang out in the kitchen one night and water spray it when it comes in. It wont hurt it and it wont be back.

My step-father recommends the SuperSoaker1000 for unwanted cats, but I think that's a bit messy for indoor use. Just go for a regular water bottle.

You could always install a dog!

In all seriousness, other than locking the flap everynight and then picking up and moving the food, there probably isn't a hell of a lot that you can do. If it can't get into the house then the chances are it will give up. Or if you have no objection to feeding but just the peeing in the kitchen, when you lock the flap each night, stick a bowl of food outside for it and then it won't need to come in the house

i do lock the door every night and i've started removing the food, but my cats need their night graze and meow for their food.

last night aroung 8pm i was in the kitchen washing the dishes and in it come, saw me and gave me one of those -you human are not worthy - look and went back out again!!! i was too shock to do anything.

i think i have to get a box to trap it

LOL

i was thinking something like a decorative latch of some sort.

or maybe something like a piece of wood. or bar that is placed over the kitty door.
what im saying is..

something like this- http://www.watercourt.co.uk/shop/images/pantryhooks.jpg
on either side of the door.
and then put a piece of wood, like something in the shape of a wooden broom handle in the hooks.
of course you could use some sort of other hooks.
maybe something smaller.
it wont take much to keep a cat out if you were to go this route.

some like this can be very strong.

bigger than a main coon. ..are you SURE it isnt a raccoon? Sometimes they move so fast it's hard to tell, and they get huge, lol. Stinky pee too. Don't know where you're located to know if this is a possibility. You'd have to latch the door super well if this is the case, wiley turds those are! LOL We had one that would eat the cats food outside my window every night, until my cat attacked it, ha! That cat's crazy.

i don't own the house, so i would have to ask the landlord premission. i've barricade the flap with a sand bag the last two nights, is either working or the cat hasn't return after the face to face meeting. so i'll continue for a few more night and see how it goes.

i don't think we have raccoons here in the uk and how that i've "met" the intruder i would say he is about the same size as my biggest boy -average for maine coon ( 8.5kg) and the otherone is a bit small for his breed ( 6.5kg) . i wish they would defend their home, but they are more interested in talking to birds than other cats
