Hello, I'm Bea, I have been keeping fish for nearly 2yrs now, but was keeping smaller tanks, I then upgraded and consolidated into a very large and varied planted community in Nov. I was thinking it would be less maintenance but I 'might' have been mistaken! Water change/ testing is less hassle, but I have more space for plants :D I also inherited my friend's mixed odd numbered Tetra group & 3 Rasbora (apparently dwarf red, fuzzy picture below, please advise if known, because I haven't had any luck finding similar in local fish shop)

I was lucky with the integration and although they were probably well worth the discount he gave me on full 4ft setup, I now have hair algae & slight guilt about not yet finding stock to increase the inappropriate schooling numbers.
I only had a problem with the 2 Cochu's blue Tetra (which were rehomed for me via local fish store) they wouldn't even let the other occupants that come with tank eat, greediest fish ever!
The rest of mixed group of Tetra do seem to have merged with my Neon's, and for the most part all stick together in a school at the slow end, but I would be happier with 6 of each, although I don't know their age/history to know whether that's sustainable. The Rasbora also seem to have been accepted by the Guppy/ Endler school, but I'm sure they would also appreciate company.
I also put 2 female blue Shrimp in with the red Shrimp colony, which might come back to bite me later, but I have been keeping an eye out for the blue female and catching her when berried to hatch eggs away from main tank to check colour before reintroducing although unfortunately she dropped them and it resulted in an attempt to hand raise the eggs, my homemade egg tumbler has not proved effective thus far.. see googledrive link below if you have any tips ;)

I also made the mistake of not boiling the driftwood that come with Friend's tank long/ well enough, so despite starting over, disinfecting and cleaning everything else that come with it, I have inherited the hair algae from his set up :( so if anyone has advice there?)

I also have a little 60l converted biorb (that My Mum was using as a Terrarium) as an emergency replacement since my spare 80L Quarantine/ Nursery Tank sprung a leak.
