Introduction/fish Help & Tank Pictures (260L)

Hey, I'm looking into getting corys too and the only thing i'd say is that i keep hearing that they prefer sand (or smooth gravel) as rough gravel can wear their barbels away, causing infections. It will probably be fine but just something to maybe keep an eye on.

apart from that your tank looks great! Loving the bogwood :)

eagles, c. sterbai IDd in the first response. Lovely fish!

And lm118, agreed about the sand. Even if they get along fine on gravel, their behavior changes on sand and they're much more playful and active.

Good spot... like I said, quick skim.

Mopani, not bogwood ;) bahaha, thank you. £80 worth in weight. Got it for £15 after I spent a fortune in Maidenhead Aquatics (LFS). In certain positions it looks like an elephant head and tusks, weighs a ton.

Yes, when I change tank I will be changing to sand - The current is Dorset Pea Gravel (explained in first post about pH troubles) and it's 2-3mm so it's very fine and all smooth. Had the gravel before I knew about the Cory's as I wanted my plants to grow properly so there is soil underneath it (about 2-4cm) and then about 4cm of gravel. Better choice than sand imo for plant growing as a thick layer of sand can become anaerobic (most of you know this but showing off my fish knowledge tehe!)

Which is a definite must! Happy fish are the best fish :)

Most definitetly, see the Fish of the Year 2012 Winner for proof of what they do on sand.  I've never seen that on gravel.

Oh my. Yes, natural behaviour is very pleasing. There are some spectacular fish on the polls for 2012. Loving the Discus.
