Intro!

Hi! It's a pleasure to meet all of you My name's Heather, and I'm sorta new to the whole fishkeeping thing. I've been doing it for about 6/7 years, and I'll admit I didn't always do so well (I was never informed on proper tank sizes or anything ). I currently have a sailfin Pleco named Bartleby in a 65 gallon tank with a handful of Mollys, a mix of golden panda and dalmatian, and I used to have a 20g with a Betta, an African dwarf frog, and a blind goldfish named vivimus. My goal is to be able to have a 150 gal for Bartleby, or even an outdoor pond of sorts for him, and I'd like to try a smaller saltwater tank as well but for now I'm sticking with the Pleco . Thanks so much for advice and helping out! It means a bunch, I promise here's my current set up and my big cryptid. Bartleby is roughly 21" now and I love him w my heart and soul

Thanks!! He turns five this year I think. I got him from Walmart at about two inches and they never told me like....anything so he was in a tent gal, then a 20 gal, and I was just able to afford his nice new tank
He's also a brat and has eaten a few fish smh

Yes, they do get big!! Bought mine at ~3 inches, and now he's around 6!

He's also a brat and has eaten a few fish smh

Hahaha, I don't know if being a brat constitutes eating your friends!

Yeah lol Bartleby's around 20" now
And yeah lol he's an opportunistic omnivore, it's the worst and why his only tank mates are mollys. He also can't have live plants bc he rips them to shreds and leaves rotting plants everywhere

Wow! My sailfin's nowhere near that aggressive! He gets a bit frustrated sometimes but nothing to write home about like that!

Yeah lol. He's actually that same breed that they've been having issues with in Florida rn, the sailfin catfish? Like I said I got him from Walmart, so they were definitely selling breeds they weren't supposed to

I know! Thank you I don't have the money for a tank that size, and nowhere to put it. I do plan on getting him a bigger tank once I have a place of my own though
