What do you think?

Inspiring! However..I wouldn't have put the grey rock on the bottom left.

Although it has good composition I prefer the tanks with slightly more plants.

Amazing Tank, well deserving

As usual I have to be the downer.

Its an amano copy (IMO) and nothing new or different.

Yes it looks good but to me it looks like many many others.

Philip Oliveira should've won with Syrah as he actually tried something original rather than this is like yours but a little better.

People please do different scapes. There is more than one look and originality should always appeal unless it is Oliver Knott s latest 'originality' style.

Please please lets have a UK scene with many different scapes rather than a host of identical but 'slightly' differnt interpretations.

p.s. from the ones I have seen from the competition although similar I wouldn't have chosen this in the top 10.

Not my favourite out of the top 27. Obviously awesome though...

PFK now have the hi-res images of the top 27. They'll be published in the mag and on the web together soon.

I was chatting with Jeremy Gay tonight. We reckon it will be a neat idea to get the readers to vote for their favourite and compare UK vs. Japanese judges taste.

Beautiful.

I would love to see more of the displays from the International Aquatic Plants Layout 2007.

Does anyone have a link to them?

Thanx

Charlotte

I like the one with the waterfall effect but I still prefer Philip Oliveiras (No9 I think) Its the only one that doesn't resemble the others. IMO

As much as I like those scapes, Andy, are they aquascapes or landscapes?

Dave.

You know, as creative and fun as some of these scapes are, watching this scape and then seeing fish swim through it looks kind of stupid to me. They recreate the look of land so expertly, yet when it comes time to select a fish, the logic of some of the scapes fall flat. I mean, in the real world, who sees fish "flying" through a path with a tree next to it that looks pretty inland to me? And if you do, then tell me what you are on, and where I can get me some! At least pick a fish that perhaps looks a bit more bird-like (hatchetfish, or a longer-finned species), or stick with just bottom-dwellers or inverts. In the rush to create the perfect scape, many often forget how big a part fish choice plays.

I really like the second from the top and the seventh from the top. Notice also, especially in picture seven, that the fish choice doesn't detract much from the scape. In fact, it's kind of difficult to pick out fish at all. Neat trick with the bubble wand too, really looks like a waterfall.

Otherwise, the tanks look great, better than anything I could ever come up with.

Some lovely tanks, no doubts there. Thanks for posting the pics Dave.

Llj - I know what you mean, obviously some skill to do it, but it does look a bit strange with the fish swimming by! But nice to see an bit of imagination as well.
