Aw. I lost an oto overnight. I knew it was coming, it was whirling last night. Only had them 3 days so I wasn't surprised. I was also stupid and tossed in the the trash before I remember the warranty lol Was only a dollar at petsmart. I may go get a few more.

Interesting pics to follow. Just for fun. {not of the oto} lol

Not as pretty as cherries, but these were only $0.40 and the cherries were $5. I still like them. The two egg carrying Mommas were having a chat this morning.

Anyone know if shrimp will live through a Kordon rid ich treatment. The new guppies are looking like the beginning of ich, no spots yet but I am seeing warning signs, flashing and really red gills. That's what QT is for. :good:

Just checked and got a good look at the eggs, there is definitely a black dot in each one. I wonder if they will hatch a little later because of the temperature. Next time they spawn I'll raise the temp to 80.

I am worried that they will hatch and be more attractive to the tank mates. The mother is doing wonderfully though...

I am sure that the hatching times are approximate, just like we say it takes a baby 9 months although it hardly ever is exactly. If you see black dots, then that is good :good:. If you have java moss, you could also move it a bit closer to their spawning site so the youngsters that venture out first will have something to eat nearby.

I don't know the Kordon brand so have no clue whether the shrimp will survive or not. Doesn't it mention something on it?

It didn't mention inverts but it is safe for scaleless...though I lost 3 cories during the treatment a few weeks ago. They also could have been weak from the shipment

I hate buying fish locally, guaranteed to already have ich. Qt routines are working for me though. I can deworm and treat ich and then know they are good to go.

I have some java moss in a bowl on the window sill. When do you think they can eat bbs?

I'm getting nervous :S

THE EGGS ARE BOUNCING AROUND

I saw Ram Momma, pick a few up and spit them out. There are some just bouncing around. It's so awesome. Shes a turd for laying them where I cant see good. I dunked my camera lens again.

OK. You are all free to make fun of me. I made a quick video to capture my first bouncy eggs...I edited so much that I am chasing Spielberg's tailfeathers. IF he has any.

I may seem stupidly excited here...I am, but only as each step happens. I am trying to stay realistic. I never expected the eggs to last this long.

Enjoy  Ps: Nothing happens in the video but a few eggs bouncing on wood  and the Momma picking up and spitting an egg like a good girl. I kept it short if that helps.

How awesome is that :hyper: And your commentary is hilarious too "Opps I dunked the camera again"

I'm so going to get myself some rams after seeing this.

lol I want so badly to zoom in farther and forget I'm above open water :p I loved the Bolivians before I ever thought they would spawn.

Update: There is a lot of movement in the pile. The dark wood is making it hard to see though. I put java moss nearby, the flow of the tank moved it some. Momma was not happy. "evil eye"

I am concerned about feeding them. I have bbs going, and will keep a rotation of it going. I'm can freeze it which helps.
