The first pic of the green & white stripe plant is Japanese rush. It is a marsh plant that grows well in the shallow edges around ponds, but will eventually die if left underwater. It has very tough leaves and often last for several weeks before it starts to decompose. As mentioned put it in a pot with some potting mix and then keep its roots damp or even wet.
I like the look of those daffodil plants donkey put up. I might see if the LFS has some for my tank
True aquatic plants are unable to support their own weight when removed from the water. Whereas marsh plants can support their own weight and remain standing upright when taken out of water. Hygrophillas, swordplants & crypts are the exception and will survive in an aquarium and in marsh conditions.
